Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is to come! Hosanna in the highest!” Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord commemorates the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Jesus is welcomed into Jerusalem as if welcoming a new king. People have seen and heard what Jesus has done and said. They saw in Him the image of the messiah that they envisioned. But this triumphant entry is not what they expected. The entry into Jerusalem was the precursor that led to Jesus' ultimate sacrifice on the cross. As we walk with Jesus through His passion proclaimed today, we experience the depth of His love. We see what it truly means to unconditionally give ourselves to the will of the Father. We ask ourselves what we are willing to give and do to live out our life of faith. Perhaps this time, instead of asking what we can get from God, we should consider what we are willing to give of ourselves to show our trust in His will as Jesus showed us through His passion and death. We enter this week into the holiest of days in our liturgical calendar. This week is the culmination of our forty week Lenten preparation. Hopefully we can make the time this week to come to the Easter Triduum services. Please check the bulletin, the website, our facebook page, and our Easter letter for the schedules. God Bless!
