GOD’S REIGN
By pointing to the end times, today’s readings speak to the coming
reign of God, when God will make
all things new. In Christ, this time
has already begun. We, by our energized watchfulness, can further
God’s reign. We can heal broken
hearts, free captives, spread the
Good News. Even so, the reign of
God will not be complete without
the second coming of Christ. Our weekly eucharistic
gathering is a sign of the fullness of the end times. At
Mass we join as an assembly to recall and to claim the
story of Jesus as our own. Together we give thanks to
God for the many gifts bestowed upon us. We receive
nourishment in the simple but profound meal. And our
weak and weary selves are invigorated and transformed
by the power of Christ, so that we ourselves might become effective signs of God’s reign present and to come.

Las lecturas de hoy, señalando
el fin de los tiempos, hablan de
la venida del Reino de Dios,
cuando Dios hará nuevas todas
las cosas. En Cristo, este tiempo
ya ha comenzado. Nosotros, por
nuestra vigorosa vigilancia, podemos avanzar el Reino de
Dios. Podemos sanar corazones
rotos, cautivos, difundir las buenas noticias. Aún así, el Reino de Dios no estará completo sin la segunda venida de Cristo. Nuestra asamblea eucarística semanal es un signo de la plenitud del
fin de los tiempos. En la Misa nos unimos como asamblea para recordar y reivindicar la historia de Jesús
como la nuestra. Juntos damos gracias a Dios por los
muchos dones que nos otorga. Recibimos alimento en
esa comida sencilla pero profunda. Y nuestro ser débil
y cansado se vigoriza y transforma por el poder de
Cristo para que podamos llegar a ser signos eficaces

For many years, our parish has begun its celebration of Christmas with an evening Mass at 4:00
PM. With its focus being a family celebration we
want to develop a Children’s Choir for this Mass.
If you have a child in 4th grade – high school
who might be interested in helping sing at the
Family Mass on Christmas Eve (12-24-12 at 4:00
pm), please contact Carolyn Adler before Tuesday, November 20th. She can be reached via email at
[email protected] or 419-4410. Please leave the following
information for her:
 Parent(s) name, email, and phone number
 Child(ren)’s name, age, grade in school
Three rehearsals will be required to allow us time to prepare for this special day. Tentatively, they are scheduled
on Fridays from 5 – 6:30pm on 11/30, 12/7, and 12/21.
More information will be available when Carolyn knows how
many and how old the child volunteers are. You will be
contacted by her via email by Friday November 23rd.
Por muchos años nuestra parroquia ha comenzado la
celebración de la Navidad con una misa de 4:00PM el
día 24 de diciembre. El enfoque principal de la misma es la celebración familiar por lo cual deseamos
desarrollar un coro de Niños para esta misa. Si su
hijo/a esta entre las edades de 4to grado a High
School y tiene interés en participar en el coro le pedimos contactar a Carolyn Adler antes del martes 20 de noviembre por email [email protected] o al 419-4410. La información
que necesita es la siguiente:
 Nombre de los padres, email, y numero de teléfono
 Nombre de los niños, edad y en qué grado de escuela están.
Tendremos tres prácticas para prepararnos debidamente para

– 6:30pm los días 30-nov, 7/dic, y 21/dic. Carolyn ofrecerá más
detalles una vez que tenga una lista definitiva de los voluntarios

Our Annual Cristmas Craft Fair is just around the
corner. Please join us and pick up some wonderful
Christmas gifts for others or that item you want to
treat yourself to. There will be a wide variety of
items to shop for. In addition, Santa will be present and you can stroll through Nicholson Hall and
enjoy some home-baked items and lunch. The Fair
is on Sunday, December 9th from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM. If
you are interested in renting a space to sell your items or
would like to donate some hand made items to the St. Cyril
booth, please contact Mary Ann at the Parish Office. All are
welcome...
Bowlathon – January 19th
Are you someone who still likes to throw that
bowling ball down the lane or someone who hasn't
bowled for years? St. Cyril Parish is looking for
you!! The first annual St. Cyril of Alexandria Bowlathon is sheduled for Saturday, January 19th at
Lucky Strike Bowl. It is time to start putting your
team together. What a great way to have fun
while helping St. Cyril. For more information, contact Mary

CHADD Support Group
Parents of Children with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
If you would like to learn more about ADD, please join the support group of parents with children and adolescents having this
disorder every second Thursday of each month here at St.
Cyril. The group meets from 6:30 PM too 8:00 PM in Dougherty
Hall. Group facilitators include Danielle Chandler, M.A., Mathew
Chandler, M.A. (and a Masters in Education) and Beverly
Sandock, M.S. and Ph.D. During the meetings, recent research
is discussed along with a sharing of experiences and ideas
about how this disorder can best be managed. Please contact

Couple Prayer Retreat February 1-3, 2013
The Couple Prayer Retreat is not a Marriage Encounter or
a Retrouvaille. It is for couples yearning for a deeper
prayer life together. An intimate time for them to discern
where they are going or adjust their direction to get
closer God as a couple. The retreat is Feb 1-3, 2013 at
the Holy Trinity Benedictine Monastery outside St David.
