MUMFORD HOME BULLETIN
Six Weeks Tests and Semester Exams: Six Weeks tests for grades 1st - 7th will be Thursday, May 22rd - Monday,
May 26th. Please be looking for information from your child’s teacher on what subjects will be tested on which days.
Six weeks tests for 8th grade and semester finals for students in grades 9 - 12th will be Friday, May 23rd – Tuesday,
May 27th. Periods 1, 3, & 5 will be on Monday, May 26th and 2, 4, & 6th periods will be on Tuesday, May 27th.
STAAR Test Results: STAAR results for grades 3 - 8th grade tests are going home TODAY with your child. Please
look for this paperwork and review scores with your child.
Summer School Letters: We mailed out letters TODAY for students in grades K – 2nd about summer school.
Students in grades 3 – 8th will get letters for recommended summer school with their STAAR results TODAY as well.
Students in grades 3 – 8th who’s letters state retention or required summer school are being mailed today. Some
students will not receive letters. Your child’s letter is determined by their grades, ITBS, and teacher
recommendation. If you have any questions, once you receive your letter, please call the school and speak with Ms.
McDonough and Mr. Bienski. Letters will say one of three things:
1. Summer Help Recommended – There were some concerns about your child’s progress and a summer program
would be beneficial but they are promoted.
2. Summer School Required – In order to be promoted to the next grade your child is required to go to
summer school.
3. Retention – Your child is not prepared for the next grade and is being retained.
Drama Program: The Drama class will be performing an end of the year play on Tuesday, May 27th for students in
grades 3rd – 7th at 1:15 and again at 2:30 for grades 8 – 12th grades. Parents are welcome to come out and watch the
performance.
AR “Big Event” Carnival: On Wednesday, May 28th we will have the AR “Big Event” for students in grades Pre
K - 5th. This is a HUGE activity each year for the kids and they really enjoy it. Students will receive some
tickets for each six weeks they made their AR goal, and additional tickets can be bought for the AR Carnival.
Pre K 3 and 4 will be at the carnival from 8:45 to 9:30, Kindergarten – 2nd grades from 10:00 to 11:15, and
Grade 3rd to 5th from 12:45 to 2:45.
Letter Jacket Orders: All students eligible to order letter jackets and those who get “extras” added to
their jacket will need to turn in the money and order forms by Wednesday, May 28th. This date is to
ensure you will have your jackets by the beginning of next school year. Be sure to get these turned in!
Graduations: We will have Graduation Ceremonies on Thursday, May 29th. Our first ceremony of the day is
Kindergarten at 9:00 am, 8th grade Graduation at 11:00 and our HS Graduation will be at 7:00 pm. We welcome
everyone to come out for these events! All ceremonies will take place in the Mumford HS gym.
Dismissal: The last day of school will be Thursday, May 29th; dismissal is at 12:00. Buses will run at noon.
Summer Camps: We have some excited camps planned for kids this summer; please see the information below for
basketball camp and mini-cheer. Everyone needs to come out and participate in these GREAT camps, grab your
friends and sign up! If your child is interested in attending the camp, fill out camp registration form and turn it in to
the front office.
Basketball Camp: This camp is for boys & girls in current grades K - 8TH. The camps will be separated by age
groups. Those attending will be learning about different basketball skills and enjoy some fun! Camp cost
includes a t-shirt!
Camp for grades 3rd – 8th will run June 2 – 5th from 12:00 – 2:00. Camp cost is $25.
Mini-cheer camp: Paperwork went home last week with students for cheer camp. Early registration is
due on June 1st, if paid by this date the cost is $45 and will be for 4 days of fun, camps participants will
also receive t-shirts and pom-poms! Late registration is $60 if registering after June 1st. In order to
be a performance mini-cheerleader your child must attend this camp. Also, there will be new uniforms
required for the mini-cheerleaders please see the information sheets for more details about the new
uniforms.

Examenes de Semestre y Seis Semanas: Exámenes de seis semanas para grados 1 al 7 serán del jueves mayo
22 al lunes mayo 26. Información de los maestros indicando cuales exámenes se darán cada día será mandara a
casa. Examenes de seis semanas de grado 8 y finales de semestre para grados 9 al 12 serán del viernes mayo
23 al martes mayo 27. Periodos 1, 3, y 5 seran el lunes mayo 26 y periodos 2, 4, y 6 serán el martes mayo 27.
Resultados de pruebas STAAR: Los resultado de las pruebas STAAR para grados 3 al 8 van a casa HOY con sus
niños. Por favor, encuentre estos y revíselos con su hijo/a.
Cartas de Escuela de Verano: Enviamos por correo HOY las cartas para estudiantes en grados K al 2 acerca de la
escuela de verano. Estudiantes en grados 3 al 8 las recibirán si se recomienda con sus resultados de STAAR hoy
también. Estudiantes en grados 3 - 8 cuales cartas dicen retención o que la escuela de verano se requiere están siendo
enviadas hoy por correo. Algunos estudiantes no recibirán cartas. Cartas está determinadas por calificaciones, ITBS,
y recomendación de las maestras. Si usted tiene alguna pregunta, una vez que reciba su carta, por favor llame a la
escuela y hable con la Sra. McDonough y el Sr. Bienski. Cartas dirán una de tres cosas:
1. Ayuda de Verano Recomendada - Hubo algunas preocupaciones sobre el progreso de su hijo y un programa
de verano sería beneficioso pero si avanzan al siguiente grado.
2. Requerido la Escuela de Verano – Para que avancen al siguiente grado se requiere que su hijo vaya a la
escuela de verano.
3. Retención - Su hijo no está preparado para el siguiente grado y repasara el año.
Presentación de Teatro: Nuestros estudiantes de drama presentaran una obra de teatro el martes mayo 27 a los
estudiantes en grados 3 al 7 a las 1:15 y de nuevo a las 2:30 para grados 8 al 12. Padres y familia son bienvenidos a ver
esta presentación.
Carnaval de AR “Big Event”: El miércoles mayo 28 tendremos el carnaval "Gran Evento" de AR para estudiantes
en grados Pre-K al 5. Esta es una actividad ENORME cada año para los niños y realmente lo disfrutan. Estudiantes
recibirán unos boletos por cada seis semanas que hicieron su meta de AR. Boletos adicionales se pueden comprar.
PreK3 y PreK4 estarán en el carnaval de 8:45 a 9:30, grados Kinder al 2 de 10:00-11:15, y grados 3 al 5 de 12:45 a
2:45.
Ordenes de Chamarras Académicas: Todos los estudiantes que son elegibles para ordenar sus chamarras
académicas y los que quieren comprar "extras" necesitan entregar sus formas de pedido y su dinero no más tardar del
miércoles 28 de mayo. Esta fecha es para asegurarse de que tengan su chaqueta para el comienzo del próximo año
escolar. Asegúrense de entregarlas!
Graduaciones: Tendremos ceremonias de graduación en jueves 29 de mayo. Nuestra primera ceremonia del día será
de Kindergarten y comenzará a las 9:00 am. Graduación de grado 8 se llevará a cabo a las 11:00. Nuestra graduación
de la HS será a las 7:00 pm. Damos la bienvenida a todos a venir a estos eventos. Nos sentimos muy orgullosos de
nuestros estudiantes que se gradúan! Todas las ceremonias se llevarán a cabo en el gimnasio de la HS de Mumford.
Despedida: El último día de escuela será el jueves 29 de mayo; clases acaban a las 12:00. Camiones correrán al
mediodía.
Campos de Verano: Tenemos unos campos emocionantes planeados para los niños este verano; consulte la siguiente
información para el campo de mini-alegría y de baloncesto. Todos necesitan venir y participar en estos GRANDES
campos así que agarren a sus amigos y apúntense! Si su niños están interesados llene una forma de registración y
regrésela a la oficina.
Campo de Basquetbol: Este es para niños y niñas en grados K al 8. Campos serán separados por grupos de
edad. Los que atiendan aprenderán diferentes habilidades de baloncesto y disfrutaran de un buen rato!
Campo para grados 3 al 8 sera junio 2 al 5 de 12:00-02:00. Costo es de $25.
Campo de Mini-Porrista: Formas fueron a casa con los estudiantes la semana pasada para el campamento
de porristas. Inscripción anticipada se vence el junio 1, si se paga con esta fecha el costo es de $45 y
será por 4 días de diversión, participantes también recibirán camisetas y pompones! Inscripción tarde es
de $60 si se inscribe después de junio 1. Para poder ser una mini-animadora su niña debe asistir este
campamento. Además, habrá nuevos uniformes requeridos para las mini-animadoras. Por favor vean las
hojas de información para obtener más detalles sobre los nuevos uniformes.
