Message from our Archbishop

My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes,
As we come to the end of one school year we open up registration for
the next. This is true both for Our Lady of Lourdes Parish School and
for our Christian Formation programs. Both the closing of one year
and the registration for the next often bring up financial questions,
especially when someone needs financial aid from the parish family
to enroll in classes. I would like to remind everyone that financial aid
is available for both programs. The parish family takes its
responsibility to share the faith very seriously and is here to help
anyone who desires to encounter Christ and grow in their faith.
This financial assistance is available to all parishioners of Our Lady
of Lourdes in either the form of a payment plan or in the form of a
scholarship when necessary. Registration as a member of Our Lady
of Lourdes and regular participation in the life of the parish is an
essential first step. All that we do flows from our coming to Christ as
a parish family at the Sunday Mass and finds its culmination there.
The ministry of the school and Christian formation team expands
upon that relationship and loses its meaning without it. In the school
it is a requirement that the parish donation be scheduled through Faith
Direct and I encourage it for everyone. Anyone who would like to
pay in installments for any of the programs, including the Christian
Formation programs, is also required to be registered with Faith
Direct and to make both their parish offering and their tuition
payments through Faith Direct.
As I mentioned the primary relationship that we have with the parish
is as parishioner. Our contribution to the parish is a percentage of our
income – we ask everyone to give 5% of their income to the work of
the parish. Each person should pray over and discern what they can
give and arrange to make a regular offering to the parish. Once a
parishioner establishes regular attendance at Mass and a regular
offering to the parish the door to financial assistance is opened for all
that we do as a parish family.
When we put first things first all else flows beautifully. “First” is to
be a registered and active parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes. Many
blessings follow that…

Mi querida familia de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes,
Al llegar al final de un año escolar abrimos la registración para el
próximo. Esto es así tanto para la Escuela Parroquial Nuestra Señora
de Lourdes como para nuestros programas de Formación Cristiana.
Tanto el término de un año como la registración para el próximo, traen
frecuentemente preguntas financieras, especialmente cuando alguien
necesita ayuda financiera de la familia parroquial para registrarse en
clases. Me gustaría recordarles a todos que la ayuda financiera está
disponible para ambos programas. La familia parroquial toma su
responsabilidad de compartir la fe muy seriamente y está aquí para
ayudar a quien desee tener un encuentro con Cristo y crecer en su fe.
Esta asistencia financiera está disponible a todos los parroquianos de
Nuestra Señora de Lourdes ya sea en forma de plan de pagos o en
orma de beca cuando sea necesario. Estar registrado como miembro de
Nuestra Señora de Lourdes y tener participación regular en la vida de la
parroquia es el primer paso esencial. Todo lo que hacemos fluye de
nuestro venir a Cristo como familia parroquial en la Misa de domingo y
allí encuentra su culminación. El equipo del ministerio de la Escuela y
Formación Cristiana se expande a base de esa relación y pierde su
sentido sin ella. En la escuela es un requisito que la donación a la
Parroquia sea a través de Faith Direct y yo animo a todos a hacerlo.
Cualquiera que quiera pagar en cuotas para cualquiera de los
programas, incluyendo los programas de Formación Cristiana, es
también un requisito estar registrado en Faith Direct y hacer tanto su
ofrenda parroquial como los pagos de matricula a través de Faith
Direct.
Como he mencionado la relación principal que tenemos con la
Parroquia es como parroquiano. Nuestra contribución a la parroquia es
un porciento de nuestros ingresos – pedimos a todos dar 5% de sus
ingresos para el trabajo de la Parroquia. Cada persona debe orar por y
discernir lo que puede dar y organizarse para dar una ofrenda a la
parroquia. Una vez que un parroquiano establece asistencia regular a
Misa y una ofrenda regular a la Parroquia, la puerta de la asistencia
financiera se abre para todo lo que hacemos como familia Parroquial.
Cuando ponemos primero lo primero todo lo demás fluye maravillosamente. “Primero” es ser un parroquiano registrado y activo de Nuestra
Señora de Lourdes. Muchas bendiciones siguen a esto…

in your home to pray for and foster vocations to the
priesthood and religious life.
The Vocational chalice is a wonderful instrument of prayer
and devotion for our parish families.
