INFANT BAPTISMS
For children under 7 years of age, the sacrament is celebrated the
FIRST Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. The par ents must r egister in the parish office at least 4 weeks prior to the baptism. Both
parents and godparents are expected to attend one catechetical session
in
advance, on the Wednesday before the baptism, at 7:00 pm.
SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION
Before being fully initiated into the sacramental life of the Church,
children over the age of 7 will need catechetical pr epar ation
through the RCIC process. Teenagers and adults will participate in
separate RCIA pr ocesses.
CONFIRMATION and COMMUNION
For those already baptized, preparation for these Sacraments will take
place according to the person’s age and knowledge of the Catholic
Faith. For further information contact the Office of Faith Formation
Program.
MARRIAGES
Couples should contact the parish office at least six months in
advance to make the pr oper ar r angements for the Sacr ament of
Matrimony.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK
Please contact the parish office.
RECONCILIATION
A priest is available for Confessions on Saturday afternoon from
3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. You can also make an individual appointment.

EL BAUTISMO DE NIÑOS
Solamente para los niños menores de los 7 años de edad, se celebra
el sacramento el SEGUNDO y el CUARTO domingo del mes a las
2:00 pm. Es preciso que los padres se inscriban en la parroquia por
lo menos 4 semanas antes del bautismo. Ambos padres y padrinos
deberán asistir a una instrucción catequética, la noche del Miercoles
anterior al bautizo a las 7:00 pm.
SACRAMENTOS DE LA INICIACIÓN CRISTIANA
Con el propósito de participar plenamente en la vida sacramental de
la Iglesia, los niños mayores de los 7 años de edad, necesitarán
prepararse en el proceso de Iniciación Cristiana Para Niños. Los
jóvenes y los adultos se preparán separadamente en el proceso del
RICA.
CONFIRMACIÓN Y COMUNIÓN
Para los que ya están bautizados, la preparación para estos Sacramentos se llevará a cabo de acuerdo con la edad de la persona y su
conocimiento de la Fe Católica. Para más información comunicarse
con la Oficina de Formación de la Fe.
MATRIMONIOS
La pareja deberá de comunicarse con el despacho pastoral y hacer
su solicitud por los menos seis meses antes de la fecha de la boda,
para entrevistarse con el sacerdote e iniciar la preparación matrimonial.
UNCIÓN DE LOS ENFERMOS
Favor de comunicarse con el despacho pastoral.
RECONCILIACIÓN
El Sacramento se celebra semanalmente los sábados de 3:30 pm a
4:30 pm. También se puede fijar una cita para la Confesión otro día
de la semana con un sacerdote.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Dear Parishioners,
We have begun the month of August. It is the second month of summer. I hope all are
enjoying the outdoors when it is agreeable and pleasant to your taste. It is a time when
many take vacations and we can see nature flourishing. May the beauty of God’s creation
raise our thoughts and hearts to give him glory each day. Please do not forget our parish if
you go away for vacation. We need your financial support in the collection throughout the
year. The bills keep coming. They do not take a vacation.
During this month and in September our parish will be entering into the Diocesan Capital
Campaign called Generations of Faith. You will be hearing more about this as we come
closer to September. Please make the need for financial stewardship in our parish and in
the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens part of your meditations this month.
Let us consider the resources that we have and how we can share them with the church so
it may flourish by the gift of our generosity inspired by God who gives us everything we have
including life itself.

Hemos comenzado el mes de Agosto. El cual es el segundo mes del verano. Espero que todos
esten disfrutando del aire libre cuando es agradable y placentero y a su gusto. Es momento en
que muchos toman vacaciones y podemos ver la naturaleza florecer. Que la belleza de la
creación de Dios eleve nuestros pensamientos y corazones para darle gloria a cada día. Por
favor, no se olvide de su parroquia si van de vacaciones. Durante el año necesitamos su apoyo
financiero en la colección. Las facturas siguen llegando. Ellas no se toman vacaciones.
Durante este mes y en septiembre nuestra parroquia estará entrando en una Campaña Capi
tal Diocesana llamada Generaciones de Fe. Estarán escuchando más sobre este tema cuando
estemos acercando a septiembre. Por favor, este mes como parte de sus meditaciones piense en
la necesidades financieras de nuestra parroquia y en la Diócesis de Brooklyn y Queens.
Vamos a considerar los recursos que tenemos y cómo podemos compartirlos con la iglesia
por lo puede florecer por el don de nuestra generosidad inspirado por Dios, que nos da todo lo
que tenemos incluyendo la vida misma.

We wish you are enjoying your summer months. Please consider these suggestions:
 If you are on vacation, do not forget to go to Mass. Experience a visit to a new church; you will feel
fantastic. Don’t take time off from God.
 Dress appropriately in this hot weather. Lighter clothing not less clothing. Remember we are in the
presence of God.
 Don’t forget your weekly support to your parish while you are away on vacation. Your parish always
counts on your generosity.

FAITH FORMATION OFFICE
The Faith Formation Program of our parish has begun Registrations for the summer. Please register in the rectory.
We are in need of Substitute Teachers/Catechists to serve our community as well as the program. We urge you to please volunteer
your time to the Sunday school program. We will train and assist you in your journey as a Substitute. If you have any questions or
would like to volunteer, please contact the office directly at 718-457-3457.
All children who attend the Public Schools are urged to attend Sunday school from Grades 1 through 8. High School students who
desire to receive the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation are also welcome to sign up as well and they will be instructed according to their age group.
