Baptism are celebrated once a month on a Sunday
after the 12:30 Mass in Spanish and 2:00pm in English.
The dates for the Baptism of children and for the
Pre-Baptismal instruction of parents should be
arranged in the rectory ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE.
In addition to English, and Spanish this Sacrament
may also be in Italian.
•WEDDINGS/ MATRIMONIO
Pre–marital instruction is a requirement for all engaged
couples. Consequently, arrangements for weddings
should be made SIX MONTHS in advance.

QUARTA DOMENICA DI PASQUA  17 DI APRILE, 2016
“My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me. I give them
eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my
hand.” Three verbs – hear, know, follow. As I listen to the Good Shepherd, I ask
three questions. How clear is my hearing? What is the Lord saying to me, asking
of me? How wrong it would be to presume that I have listened to His call,
without taking time to reflect upon it. How I wish I could know the Lord, as He knows me. He
fills me with gifts, which I sometimes do not use. He wants the best for me, and I sometimes
settle for less or mediocrity. He asks me to be responsible and accountable in my serving Him
in others. How closely do I give in to follow the Lord? Do I keep a safe distance or try to take
giant steps to be closer to Him. On this Good Shepherd weekend I find comfort as He calls,
leads, feeds and heals me. I am also aware that I need to hear, listen, know and follow Him
more closely.
“Mis ovejas escuchan mi voz, yo las conozco y ellas me siguen. Yo les
doy Vida eterna: ellas no perecerán jamás y nadie las arrebatará de mis
manos.”Tres verbos: escuchar, conocer, seguir. Al escuchar al Buen
Pastor, me hago tres preguntas: ¿Qué tan claramente escucho? ¿Qué me
está diciendo el Señor, qué está pidiéndome? Qué mal sería asumir que he escuchado Su
llamado sin detenerme a reflexionar sobre ello. Cuánto quisiera conocer al Señor como El me
conoce a mí. Me llena de dones que muchas veces no uso. El desea lo mejor para mí, y yo a
veces me conformo con menos o mediocridad. Me pide ser responsable y dar cuenta de mi
servicio a El en otros. ¿Qué tan de cerca sigo al Señor? ¿Mantengo una distancia prudente o
trato de tomar pasos gigantescos para acercarme a El? En esta semana del Buen Pastor me
consuelo cuando El me llama, guía, alimenta y sana. Me doy cuenta de que necesito oírlo,
escucharlo, conocerlo y seguirlo más de cerca.
Donandoci, per mezzo del battesimo, di far parte della Chiesa, Gesù ci assicura
di conoscerci uno per uno. La vocazione battesimale è sempre personale, e
richiede una risposta di responsabilità in prima persona. Ci sentiamo sicuri,
nella Chiesa, perché Gesù è sempre con noi, e ci chiama e ci guida con la voce
esplicita del Papa e con i suggerimenti interiori che ci aiutano a riconoscerla e a
corrispondervi. Se restiamo nella Chiesa, con il Papa, non andremo mai dispersi,
perché Gesù ci conosce per nome e ha dato la sua vita per salvarci. Quella vita
che si comunica a noi, pegno di eternità, nell’Eucaristia degnamente ricevuta. Non dobbiamo
aver paura di nulla. Attraverso Gesù entriamo in comunione con il Padre, partecipiamo alla
vita trinitaria. I pericoli esterni non ci turbano: dobbiamo temere soltanto il peccato che ci
seduce a trovare altre vie, lontane dal percorso del gregge guidato da Gesù. La nostra
personale fedeltà alla voce del Pastore contribuisce all’itinerario di salvezza che la Chiesa
guida nel mondo, e da essa dipende la nostra felicità.

Wedding Jubilee Mass with Cardinal Dolan at the
Cathedral of St. Patrick, Saturday, June 25th at
1:30pm or Sunday, June 26th at 2pm.
